Orlando Pirates Are The 2020 MTN 8 Champions!
The Buccaneers defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 in the MTN 8 final. Thembinkosi Lorch scored the decisive winner in the second half.
Orlando Pirates Are The 2020 MTN 8 Champions! They have ended their 6-year trophy drought.
Thembinkosi Lorch earned and scored a penalty for Orlando Pirates. Thabang Monare suffered a first half injury after a tackle on Tebogo Phalane.

He got a yellow card and had to be stretched off after taking a knock on his knee. He was substituted not by a fellow midfielder but an attacker in Thembinkosi Lorch.
Bloemfontein Celtic took the lead in the first few minutes if the game. A defensive lapse was capitalised upon by Celtic.
Celtic could’ve taken a two-goal lead through former Pirates player Menzi Masuku. But his shot couldn’t find the target.
After this, Orlando Pirates then created a lot of chances. Deon Hotto equalised for Orlando Pirates in the first half.
Thembinkosi Lorch then won a penalty in the second half. He dusted himself off and sumptuously tucked away the penalty. Although it did seem as if Lorch was fouled just outside the penalty area.
Orlando Pirates have now ended their long 6-year drought. The last time when they ended a long trophy drought was in 2010 when they won the MTN 8 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
This sprung a successful two years for Pirates that led to a double treble.
