Orlando Pirates have confirmed that two players have left the team. Defenders Gladwin Shitolo and Justice Chabalala have left the building.
Shitolo has had his contract with Orlando Pirates terminated by a mutual agreement. He will leave the club after spending last season on loan with Golden Arrows.
“Meanwhile, Orlandopiratesfc.com can confirm the amicable parting of ways with Gladwin Shitolo following a meeting between both parties earlier today. The Club would like to thank Shitolo and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.” Pirates said in a statement earlier this afternoon.
Gladwin Shitolo had impressed in his loan stint with Abafana Bes’thende. His departure has come as a surprise to the Buccaneers faithful.
Another defender, Justice Chabalala, has also left Pirates. He is only gone on a one-year loan spell.
Chabalala will join new DSTV Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United for 12 months. This is after it was initially reported that he had agreed to join Chippa United.
“Orlandopiratesfc.com would like to clarify that after initially announcing the loan move of Justice Chabalala to Chippa United, the 29-year-old defender will no longer be joining the Chilli Boys, as the player has instead preferred a loan move to Sekhukhune United.” The statement clarified.
Pirates have already completed two defensive signings this season. They have captured the signatures of Kwanda Mngonyama and Bandile Shandu.
