Peter Shalulile Shares His Everyday Routine As A Football Player

Peter Shalulile Shares His Everyday Routine As A Football Player. Peter Shalulile has been the best player in the Premier Soccer League in the past two seasons and the evidence of that is he has scooped the PSL Footballer of The Season twice consecutively including other individual accolades.

‘Shasha’ as the Mamelodi Sundowns talisman is well-known has found his way into the hearts of many South African football enthusiasts as he continues to make himself a household name by making it seem easy to score goals consistently.

Since he joined Downs, he has found the back of the net on 51 occasions in 83 games across all competitions. It takes working beyond maximum effort in training to get such results as a striker. Shalulile has explained what he does everyday that sets him apart from other players.

“I believe that it is easy to make your way up but to stay up there is what then becomes the harder challenge because some tend to get into a space of being comfortable,” he said in the latest edition of KICK OFF Magazine.

“However, for me, I always prefer to do things that make me uncomfortable. I know everyone can work hard but then the question is can you work hard every day by waking up at 04h00 to go and work as I do. It is not easy, but it can be done because in Europe they are doing it.

“When it comes to eating, I always make sure I eat healthy even though I know how hard it is since it is expensive.

“But then in my case, it is my body and I need to take care of it. I wake up at 04h00 every morning and that is when you will see me in the gym doing spinning after that I go straight to work to train with my teammates.

“After that, I go home to relax and after that, I do finish with my trainer somewhere else after which I knock off around 18h00. Football is a job to us, and I treat it as such by working from 04h00 in the morning until 18h00.

“For some of us, thiss is the only thing that we know how to do so we need to invest in football and give it our all. If you invest in football, you will reap the rewards at the end of the day so for me that is how I will keep doing it,” he added.
