Pitso Mosimane & Sead Ramovic Exchange Words Over Sibusiso Vilakazi Ordeal! The Rockets let go of the experienced player last month.

TS Galaxy released Sibusiso Vilakazi in January, even though he only joined at the beginning of the season. Head coach Sead Ramovic and Pitso Mosimane have since engaged in a war of words over the situation.

After Vila was released by The Rockets, Sead Ramovic was quizzed by the press as to why they would let such a quality player like that go.

“About Vila, fantastic player, fantastic name, great career but again, me as a coach, I don’t care about age, I don’t care about names. I just look at the things that I see on the field.

“And if we have players on the field that give 100% and train well, give a lot of effort, these players will play. The players that don’t do their best every day, will have a difficult time, but I think it is not only at my club, at other clubs it is the same rules because every coach tries to pick up the best eleven.

“We all want to win games; I would not be smart enough if I put a player in the field who didn’t show me during the week why should I put him to play. How big is the chance if you don’t train that suddenly you will train well.”

Mosimane then intervened and defended his former player. This is when Ramovic hit back at the Al Ahli Saudi head coach.

“Mr Mosimane, I don’t usually react when I see someone’s emotions controlling them,” he told SABC Sport.

“But this time I’ll make an exception for you. I hope you will like my tone this time.

“Vilakazi is a wonderful person, a really fantastic player, [who had] a nice career.  But we have just as many players who try very hard to start the same career and give everything every day.

“I would really like Vilakazi to continue his career.  Maybe he could continue in your team because you could certainly use his quality.

“I’m sure your chairman [at Al Ahli Saudi] would like to have success this year and not care too much about your great achievements six years ago. I wish you to continue your fantastic record as a coach,” the German concluded.

Mosimane then also responded back to Ramovic.

“Coach Ramovic, please sit down.” He posted on his Twitter account.

“I was just protecting Sbu Vilakazi’s career that is still left with few years to go. You have to make the [PSL] top eight and match ‘Dance’ [former Galaxy coach Dan Malesela’s] Nedbank Cup record.

“Let’s focus and be responsible Pro Licence coaches.”
