Reeve Frosler has been given the DSTV Premiership goal of the month for February/March. This is for his howitzer against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby.
The full back scored the firs goal in the game as Amakhosi won the match 2-1 at the Orlando Stadium. This is some way for him to celebrate his only derby goal.
“It feels nice and special to win an award for a goal that came in a game like this, a Soweto Derby. It feels so much more significant to me given the game and the stage,” The happy Frosler said to the media upon receiving the award.
“I saw the ball played to Khama (Billiat) and I thought let me just go forward. It came to Bernard (Parker).
“He set me up and when I struck the ball, all I thought was hit through the ball and get it on target. I hit through the ball, it was on target and as soon as I hit it, I thought the keeper had the ball, but then I saw he did not get a strong hand to it and I thought ‘Yoh! it went in’,” he added.
Frosler was up against the likes of Khuliso Mudau, Haashim Domingo, Lyle Lakay, Khanyiso Mayo, Goodman Mosele, Vusimuzi Mncube and Knox Mutizwa for the coveted award. However, fans voted in the favour of the Amakhosi full back.
“Let’s go for more of these awards and let’s hope we can score more goals this season. I would like to personally thank the Kaizer Chiefs supporters for voting for me.” He concluded.
