On the pitch, the football is not the same as about 20 years ago. Back then, the PSL was laden with skill, technique and lots of goals.
This does not speak of lack of quality defending. It speaks of how high the attacking quality was like. PSL performances were replicated on the international stage.
This is where Bafana Bafana would do well and regularly qualify for major international competitions.
Players would also be highly sought after. Gone are the days when players would join a top European league directly from the PSL.
So much so, that the famous Ajax Cape Town academy has been disbanded. Parent club Ajax Amsterdam retracted all affiliation with the club last year.
