Rulani Mokwena Concerned About Fixture Congestion! The Brazilians have always had one of the most hectic schedules.

Mamelodi Sundowns are participating in a host of tournaments this season. Head coach Rulani Mokwena has addressed his fears regarding possible fixture congestion. 

Masandawana will also participate in the group stages of the CAF Champions League this year. They will have to juggle the DSTV Premiership, Carling Black Label Knockout, African Football League and the Champions League. 

Their huge squad is going to be stretched if they are going to apply themselves effectively in these competitions. 

“The most important thing is that our players need training time,” Mokwena told the press.

“They need to improve in what I call muscle integrity. Because we play a lot of games back to back with very little training time. 

“Some players that don’t get game time breakdown during matches when we give them some form of opportunities. I always tell people that overload is probably less dangerous than underload.

“The focus now is to make sure we improve our team. Especially, the conditioning of players around the team that don’t get as much minutes as others because we’re coming to a phase of the season where we will need every single player we have registered.” He added
