Cape Town City drew 0-0 away to Orlando Pirates in the DSTV Premiership last night. Head coach Eric Tinkler was disappointed in the display from his team.

The visitors were under the cosh for the entire 90 minutes. They could not stop the onslaught from the hosts.

Their only saving grace was that The Bucs did not have their shooting boots on. Otherwise, it would have been a landslide win for them.

“Yoh, poor. TO be brutally honest, very very poor.” Tinkler told SuperSport TV after the draw.

“First half we didn’t apply our pressing strategy. It was way too easy for them to find the free man.

“Either through the wingback or through the winger playing inside, [Fortune] Makaringe come at us. And they would come at us and come at us and come at us.

“And we couldn’t deal with it. I was forced in the first half to already change the pressing strategy because it wasn’t working for us.

“First half I thought we were poor, yet we created two great chances. One with Tassie, where I think we should have scored and the shot from distance from [Thabo] Nodada.

“But on the ball, I thought we were atrocious. Second half I don’t think we had a shot on target.

“I think we spent most of the second half defending. And we didn’t look a threat at all, going forward.

“So, for me, the performance today was simply not good enough. And we need to show more desire to want to win games.

“You can’t be pleased every time with a draw, you know. I’m not happy with a draw.

“Today I’m not happy with a clean sheet because I wanted to see us going forward to score more goals.” He exclaimed.
