Thapelo Morena Expects Challenging Game Against Marumo Gallants! The Brazilians host Bahlabane Ba Ntwa in the league today.

Mamelodi Sundowns will play against Marumo Gallants in the DSTV Premiership tonight. Right back Thapelo Morena is wary of the threat that their opponents may pose on them.

The Brazilians are coming from a heavy 15-1 aggregate win over Seychelles minnows La Passe in the CAF Champions League qualifiers. This has given the team a much-needed confidence boost Morena admitted.

“We’ve been preparing ourselves really well,” he told the club website.

“I think we really needed the win to keep us motivated knowing that we have games coming up. We need to make sure that we do well and that we prepare well.” He added.

The last time these two sides met was in the 2022 Nedbank Cup final back in May. Morena scored a last gasp winner to secure the treble for the league champions.

“It’s always a good match against Marumo, especially with Coach Dan having gone back there. Their style of football that they will be playing is going to be very challenging.

“But we know we have to pull up our socks, put our minds in the game and take the game as it is.”

“When they come at us, we will have to fight back and deliver what we have to do. Going again from tomorrow we will obviously do our video analysis and we will definitely know how to approach the game much easier.” He added.

The Masandawana players returned to training yesterday. They had been given a day off after their rout of La Passe.

“It’s a normal schedule that we normally do with game preparations. We gave our best today coming back from the off and everyone was sharp to give their best in training.

“We only got a day off to go and do our recovery right, knowing that it’s going to be a long week with games coming up. We had to make sure that we do our regeneration very well.” He concluded.
