TS Galaxy Prepare for Possible Khulumani Ndamane Exit Amid Sundowns Interest

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has confirmed that Mamelodi Sundowns are in talks to sign defender Khulumani Ndamane, but insists the club has already put systems in place to prepare for such departures.
Ndamane has been one of Galaxy’s standout performers and is now attracting attention from the defending champions. While many would expect Galaxy to resist selling him, especially after parting ways with Kamogelo Sebelebele and Lebone Seema to Orlando Pirates, Sukazi says the club is always ready for these scenarios.
“Indeed, Sundowns are very keen on Ndamane. Indeed there are talks. We have not concluded yet. If we conclude, we conclude. As TS Galaxy, you would also know that we always plan ahead. We know that if this situation happens, what then is the solution? So, we’ve got all the permutations figured out around Ndamane,” Sukazi told Soccer Laduma.
He admitted that circumstances often force the club to sell their best players, but stressed that replacements are always lined up. “As project TS Galaxy, we are duty bound to lose Ndamane or any of our players at any stage of the transfer window, to be honest. We have our jobs cut out to find a replacement. It’s not the easiest thing to do. We have to be that club, rightly or wrongly. We have accepted our fate. Until we have a R20 million front jersey sponsor, then things will change. We are ambitious and we want to be a club that grows and challenges, but sometimes our circumstances dictate on us what to do with our best talent. But as we do that, we are reinforcing and we are making sure the club stays in the league and attains a position better than the last season.”
Galaxy have built a reputation for consistently unearthing new talent. Despite losing key players to the big three, they have finished in the top eight for four consecutive seasons. This has strengthened the belief that they can remain competitive regardless of exits.
Already this season, new names are making an impact. Seluleko Mahlambi, younger brother of Phakamani Mahlambi, scored his first professional goals in Galaxy’s 2-0 win over Siwelele FC at Mbombela Stadium. Lentswe Motaung has impressed at right back following the departure of Marks Munyai, showing signs he could become a regular fixture in the squad.
Galaxy’s ability to adapt has kept them stable in the league, and Sukazi’s comments highlight a clear long-term vision. While losing Ndamane would be a setback, the club’s structure suggests they will continue to thrive, with their scouting and development pipeline ensuring a steady flow of talent.
If the deal with Sundowns goes through, it will be another reminder of Galaxy’s role as one of the best talent factories in South African football.
