Royal AM Complete the Signing of Happy Jele! Thwihli Thwahla have added the veteran defender to their books.

Happy Jele has joined Royal AM as a free agent the club revealed. The details of his contract remain unknown though, regarding the length of his stay at the club especially.

Magents had been in talks with Thwihli Thwahla at the beginning of the season after his contract with Orlando Pirates was not renewed. These talks broke down though, as both sides were not in agreement.

It was during this period that the 36-year-old Jele had considered retiring, so he can serve Orlando Pirates in a management or coaching capacity.

“A lot of teams have approached him, but what they have been offering him is something that doesn’t sit well with him,” a source close to Jele revealed to Phakaaathi last year.

“They know that he is one of the best defenders in the country and he has achieved a lot, but they take him for granted.

“Happy wants to sign for a team that will value and respect him as a player and what he has accomplished. And he is one of the top professionals in the PSL, a lot of young and old players will tell you that about him.

“So, these teams that have been coming for his signature are not serious because what they are putting on the table is really low for a player of his calibre.” The insider revealed.
