Zambian Goalkeeper Cyril Chibwe Joins Orbit College FC Ahead of PSL Second Half

Zambian international goalkeeper Cyril Chibwe has completed a move to Premier Soccer League side Orbit College FC ahead of the second half of the 2025/26 season. The 32-year-old shot-stopper recently returned to Zambia to play for ZESCO United but parted ways with the club in December. Chibwe had joined ZESCO in August 2025 after leaving Motsepe Foundation Championship team Black Leopards, marking another chapter in a career that has spanned multiple clubs in South Africa.

Chibwe’s new club, Orbit College FC, is based in the North West province, where the goalkeeper was born, making this transfer a homecoming. The move strengthens the squad as Orbit College prepares to compete in the Betway Premiership for the first time. Although contract details have not been disclosed, Chibwe’s experience at both domestic and continental levels provides the team with a reliable and seasoned presence in goal.

Chibwe is well-known in South African football, having previously represented Baroka FC, Polokwane City, Platinum Stars, Jomo Cosmos, and Ga-Rankuwa United. His time with ZESCO United also exposed him to continental competitions, further enhancing his profile. His track record of consistency and professionalism has made him a trusted figure between the posts for both club and country.

The goalkeeper becomes the second confirmed signing for Orbit College since the squad returned to training last Monday, following veteran midfielder Bradley Ralani. As reported by KickOff, the 38-year-old Ralani came out of retirement to continue his playing career, despite recently taking up a coaching role in the Northern Cape. Ralani brings significant top-flight experience, having played for Ajax Cape Town, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Cape Town City, adding depth and leadership to the squad.

Orbit College are actively reinforcing their team as they aim to secure a Top Eight finish in their debut Premier Soccer League season. The signings of Chibwe and Ralani demonstrate the club’s intent to combine experience with local talent to navigate the challenges of top-flight football and avoid relegation. Fans can expect a more competitive and structured squad as the second half of the season gets underway.
