Marumo Gallants See Early Exit for Evanonye Kossi Adetu

Marumo Gallants have confirmed another departure with Evanonye Kossi Adetu leaving the club just four months after signing. This comes after the transfers of Daniel Msendami and Mpho Chabatsane to Orlando Pirates, marking a busy period of player turnover for the Tshwane-based side.
Adetu, 30, was brought in September to fill the void left by Gabadinho Mhango, Junior Zindoga, Dino Ndlovu, and Junior Dion. The club hoped he would provide attacking solutions, but limited game time prevented him from making an impact. He appeared in only four matches, starting once against Durban City and coming off the bench in three other fixtures, without registering a goal. Head coach Alexandre Lafitte had his preferred lineup, which restricted Adetu’s opportunities.
Despite the early exit, Adetu has attracted interest from multiple clubs. Reports suggest two teams in the Motsepe Foundation Championship and one club in Tanzania are monitoring the Ghana-born, Togolese-descended striker. Black Leopards are reportedly leading the chase, with another Championship side also showing interest.
Adetu’s career has spanned several countries. He previously played for Raya Ghazl Kafr Al-Dawar in the Egyptian Second Division and had stints in Northern Cyprus, Malaysia, Libya, Ghana, and Liberia. His most prolific period came in the KTFF Super Lig in Northern Cyprus, where he scored 38 goals in 41 games, and he also won the Golden Boot in Liberia.
While Marumo Gallants have welcomed Romaric Outtara, Emmanuel Mwiinde, and Msindisi Kunene, Adetu’s departure underscores the challenges the club faces in stabilizing its squad amid ongoing transfers. His next move will be closely watched, as he looks to regain form and make an impact at a new club.
