Al Ahly defeated Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in Morocco to reclaim their African crown. Despite this, Pitso Mosimane believes that his team have not reached the levels he desires.
“We feel good.” Mosimane told the media after the game.
“We made a promise to win the tenth cup and we have delivered the tenth cup. I must say congratulations to the boys, who have done very well.”
“I would like to congratulate the club president Mahmoud El Khatib for the support he gave me and for believing in me. We have not arrived where I want the team to come to.
“There is a lot of improvement that needs to be done. We have to strengthen the team to make it stronger, especially because we want to do well in the FIFA Club World Cup.”
“I am only here for nine months. The players do understand my strategy and you can see how they move and how they pass the ball, but it has not reached the level that I want.” He added.
The Al Ahly delegation has already arrived back home in Egypt. They have been met by widespread acclaim from Egyptian royalty.
