See How Lyle Lakay Has Been Spending Quality Time With His Kids
With the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season approaching, players have a little time left to spend with families before they get back into the business. Unfortunately for others, they’ve already left homes for pre-season camps.
It seems like Mamelodi Sundowns is training in Pretoria and those who have their families based in the country’s capital city still have time to spend with their loved ones. Masandawana’s left-back Lyle Lakay has taken to social media to show us how he spent some time with his young two boys.

LIFE ON THE PITCH
Lakay has been consistent since he arrived at Downs from Cape Town City. Left-back wasn’t his position but he adapted until he became natural in it. He’s now a regular at Bafana Bafana and feels he’s not old to be overlooked by national team coach Hugo Broos.
“No, I don’t feel old. I still feel young. Some people tell me I’ve been playing for years, but I think I’ve only been playing football since 2009,” Lakay said about his 13-year tenure in the top-flight,” Lakay said as per IOL.

“I think we get the example of the players playing in the Uefa Champions League every week (that age is just a number). Look at Luca Modric, 36, who won the Champions League with Real Madrid.
“Look at the age of those guys. Thiago Silva is 37 years old. I think football is moving in a different direction with age now, guys are proving that age is just a number if you still have the legs.”
Lakay will have more competition now on with Aubrey Modiba having pulled up his socks especially towards the end of the previous season. The former SuperSport United star also scored some crucial goals for Bafana Bastyle and is in pursuit for a national team call-up.
